Because of my own resource limitations with this particular makeup project, I was last to create my looks. However, I’m glad that I was because I was able to see the general sort of color palette that everyone ended up going with. The main thing with this was that no one in our group ended up going with the purple that we originally had ideas for, though I imagine it still would have fit in the general world we had created though. Afterall, Taylor’s red look fits in  because of the beautiful shapes that she chose!

So, let’s get into my own two looks! First, fresh face! Between the two looks my face doesn't change much because they were done a day apart from each other. However, I do shave for my Kitsune look.

For my editorial look I used my Urban Decay Element’s Palette, Athena painting palette, Ben Nye foundation, L'oreal's infallible galaxy highlighter stick, glitter from Krylon, and Nyx’s glitter glue.

I ended up fixing my eyebrows some, and then I did my base eyeshadow. I put down my cream color as the base, and then to set it with a shimmer shadow to start this holographic look right.

After this I added some other shimmery shadows that were various shades of grey to add some depth to the eyeshadow base, though I don’t know if it was really necessary for this look. I then added some green oil paint, though I should have done that last so that it would have been bright in the end photos. This look probably would have benefited from a neon eyeliner that was meant for eyes, because my hooded eyes just wanted to smear the paint even after set with green eyeshadow.

Then I did a base of white face paint and wet on top of it with various shimmery shadows. In hindsight I wish I stayed with white shimmer because it would have red better, but oh well. Also, the green will change as the look goes on because I’ll get bored of the single stripe (though I kind of wish I didn’t mess with it as much).

After this I added two dots of green on the bridge of my nose to mimic a bridge piercing. I also did highlight with the galaxy stick and my loose multi glitter from Krylon. The glitter in my opinion really helped the look a lot and helped it tie back to holographic. Plus, I just like glitter too much. RIP my bathroom. It will never not be covered in glitter again.

Then, I put on my wig and made a couple more adjustments! I contoured using a dark green eyeshadow. Then, I used a white grease paint base for my eyebrows and then went on top of them with the neon blue. The wig helped tie this look back to the cyberpunk category, and I think my outfit did as well!

I can definitely see myself wearing this for a rave in the future, or maybe some apocalyptic dystopian cyberpunk nightmare. Either or.

Now, onto the kitsune look! For this I only used my Athena painting palette and my Certifeye Tropical Wonders palette.

For this I did my base in white. However, I wish I had bought some makeup sponges for this so I could have had a more even base. In my experience with doing face paint in the past, It’s much easier to apply it as a base when you’re able to dab it on. These brushes weren’t really the best for that even though I certainly did try. I also wish I had some loose powder to set with because having to do it with white eyeshadow was tedious. Though having this base meant that the whisker shapes went on really smoothly!

From here I layed down my basic shapes for my eye makeup and my lip makeup. Both were done with powder eyeshadows.

And then I did what I always do, which is complete the rest of the makeup without progress pictures. I brought the mint color out from the lips into a more cat like smile (yes I know Kitune are foxes but it fit.) I also added the swirls onto the jawline and forehead with the same paint as the whiskers because all Kitsune masks have some sort of decorative shape. I added the same pink to my eyebrows to bring them into the inhuman look. Lastly, to create depth in the eye look I added some pink to the top lid and brought the eyeliner down the nose to contour.

That’s the final look! In hindsight I would have made sure the swirls  matched each other more, but I thought the overall look was effective in being recognizable as a Kitsune while bringing in the cyberpunk colors our group chose.
