Reverse Eyeshadow
For this week, I kept my look relatively simple! Wow! That’s a weird thing coming from me! I decided to take the editorial prompt as taking a more normal glamor makeup and then put a spin on it. So, I did an upside down eyeshadow look. For this look the star of the show should be on the lower lid eyeshadow, and should be supported by the rest of the makeup here.
So, this is what my face looked like today!
Probably could have used a shave for this look, but what’s done is done. Plus, we don’t see enough stubble in makeup, what a shame.
For today’s look I used Colourpop’s Misunderstood palette, Urban Decay’s Elements palette, Certifeye’s Tropical Wonders palette, e.l.f BB Cream and blush pallette, Nyx’s Worth the Hype mascara, and Bath and Body Work’s lip crayon in Lily!
Because this eyeshadow was a simple shape, I started with it first rather than foundation. The photo above was me basically making sure I got the eyeshadow right up against the lower lash line.
After getting the base in, I brought the shadow downwards to make sure it was even more attention grabbing and less everyday looking. I also then brought the wing out like I would with an upper lid liner, but upside down. I then repeated that on the other side.
The rest of what I did was pretty normal! I applied my BB cream as my foundation because I didn’t want this to be a full coverage type of look. I also applied the lip crayon for a bit of shine. I brought some color to my face using blush as normal, and I contoured using a more brownish orange eyeshadow. I used this same color to bring some light color to my upper lid, but not enough to distract from the shimmer green eyeshadow underneath. If I had a dewy setting spray, I think it would have looked absolutely lovely here!
Despite being simpler than other looks I’ve done, I really love this look. I think it’s also fun seeing myself in makeup that isn’t full coverage and with more imperfections visible. I’d call this look a success!
